About Us Many of the items in this chic little gallery are one-of-a-kind pieces that are not carried elsewhere and the styles range from the antique to the modern. The idea for Art & Artisan began about ten years ago when the owner, Karen Besson who is also an artist, began to collect original paintings and limited edition prints. She noticed a need for a local gallery that carried the work of emerging artists as well as established artists at prices that were within reach of the beginning collector. Armed with a degree in Museum Studies and Art Administration and a decade of experience working for two museums and a commercial gallery, she decided it was time to open Art & Artisan. She recently stated "I am firmly committed to offering well-chosen pieces of fine and functional art for people who want to express their individuality without breaking the bank.and Ellicott City is a perfect location to mix the antique and the modern." |
